In 2015, I was tasked with rebranding Khutorets na Dnipro, a renowned restaurant offering traditional Ukrainian cuisine in the heart of Kyiv. The challenge was to modernize the brand’s identity while preserving its classical and authentic roots. The restaurant’s legacy, rich with tradition, needed a fresh visual language that would not compete with the existing elegant and historic interiors but instead complement them.

The new identity was built around a minimalist aesthetic, designed to enhance rather than overshadow the restaurant’s beautifully ornate interior. This approach allowed the focus to remain on the restaurant’s core elements: the ambiance, panoramic views of the Dnipro River, and the unique Ukrainian culinary experience. By choosing clean lines, a restrained color palette, and understated typography, the visual identity embraced modernity while respecting the restaurant’s deep cultural heritage.

Through this rebranding, Khutorets na Dnipro was able to preserve its traditional charm while stepping into a more contemporary space, ensuring that the visual identity aligned with the refined yet authentic dining experience it offers. The end result was a cohesive brand that mirrored the restaurant’s vision of combining timeless Ukrainian traditions with a fresh, modern perspective.
