The Client

MHP is an international leader in the food and agritech sectors, dedicated to producing high-quality and delicious food products that enhance consumers’ lives. As the leading chicken producer in Ukraine, MHP supplies over 55% of the industrial production and meets about 35% of the country’s total chicken consumption. With an export geography covering more than 80 countries, MHP ranked second in Europe for broiler population volume as of 2021.

The Task

MHP was about to launch its first products targeted at children aged 3-8 years. My task was to create a brand strategy, naming, and packaging that would appeal to young families who have little time to cook but want their children to be healthy. The name had to sound like something that kids would say when they saw a chicken, mimicking chicken sounds; thus, the name KOKO was chosen. The product was targeted at three age groups: 3-5 years, 5-7 years, and 7-9 years. The idea was that children would get used to the product at a younger age and continue to consume it at later stages of their development. That is why the brand hero is meant to look different on products for different age groups.
